EXTRA TIPS FOR A ROTATION DIET
You will find it
beneficial to make charts and record what you have eaten on a daily
basis so that you can then note down any unpleasant reactions to
foods.
This is fairly straight forward when you are only eating
foods on a minimum 4 day cycle and it becomes much easier to identify
the foods which are giving you problems. Once your problem foods
have been identified you may feel able to relax the four day rotation
within reason, depending on how severe your symptoms are.
For the most part all members of the same food family are on
the same day, the grass family split on to two alternate days
because otherwise you would have one day without any complex
carohydrates to keep up your calorie intake. All the
members containing gluten are on day one and the others, maize, rice
and wild rice are on day three. If you have problems finding
enough foods that agree with you on a particular day, you may have to
eat some from an alternate day to make up the calories. For
instance if you react to the nightshade family on day four you may have
to eat other vegetables from day two.
I know how difficult it can be to find specialist treatment for
allergies. My family and I have been very lucky to have
such a kind and supportive GP who has always been prepared to
listen to my views and convictions with patience and understanding
without ever dismissing my theories out of hand and making me feel
silly. I know only too well that without his support my familys
story could have been very differant.
The British Society for Allergy, Environmental and Nutitional Medicine
are willing to supply you with a list of specialist doctors who
practise nutritional medicine, if you send an SAE.
